1914 - Rapture In 1914 the Watchtower were expecting great things.  The Watchtower believed that their work on earth had been completed and 1914 would be the year that they would experience the “Rapture”, whereby all true Christians are taken from Earth by God into Heaven before other events associated with the end of the world take place. They believed in this so much that in 1914 the Watchtower organized a trip to Jerusalem so that they would be first to experience the Rapture. The photo below was taken from the top of the Mount of Olives, which overlooks Jerusalem.  Why the Mount of Olives?  The Mount of Olives is important due to the belief that when the Messiah arrives through the golden gate, then people who are buried (or situated) on the Mount of Olives will be 'First in line’. Notice how Judge Rutherford is sitting on Charles Taze Russell’s right hand.

1914년.. 아직 “여호와의 증인”이라는 이름을 갖기 전, 이들은 

지상에서의 그들의 사명은 모두 <완성>되었으며,

1914년은 <휴거의 해>라고 믿었다. 

<참종교>를 믿는 자기들만이 지상에서 들어올려져 천국으로 갈 것이라 믿었다. 

1914년, 그들은 예루살렘으로 갔다. 휴거를 맞기 위하여..

왜 올리브 산이냐고? 

구세주가 오는 곳이므로.. 

그 곳에서 <줄서서> 기다리고 있다가 구세주를 맞이해야 하므로.. 

물론 휴거도 종말도 없었으며, 2년 후 1916년, 러셀은 엉터리 예언만을 남기고 “자신”의 종말을 맞고, 그 뒤를 이어

러더포드가 2대 회장이 되었다.

휴거를 믿었던 이들도, 신도 수가 14만4천을 초과하자, 천국으로 올라가는 놈 따로, 새 하늘 새 땅의 

지상낙원에서 영생하는 놈 따로... 어디서 듣도보도 못한 괴상한 교리를 만들어낸다.

종말이라던 1914년에 대하여는, 언제 그랬냐는 듯 말을 뒤집어 엉뚱한 소리들을 멍멍대면서...

한국에서 휴거를 기다린 사이비종교 다미선교회와 다름이 무엇인가?
